Porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) Program Information.
The
Marine Mammal Stranding Center is a private non-profit organization
based in Brigantine, New Jersey. Since the Center's founding in
1978, it has responded to over 1500 calls for stranded whales,
dolphins, seals, and sea turtles that washed ashore on New
Jersey beaches. These animals range from a 5 lb. Kemps RidleySea
Turtle to a 25 ton Humpback whale (both of which are endangered
species).

Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) was founded in
1987 by David Packard with a mission "to achieve and maintain
a position as a world center for advanced research and education
in ocean science and technology, through the development of better
instruments, systems, and methods for scientific research in the
deep waters of the ocean."
